Sharing of Good Industry Practices and/or Lessons Learned in Nuclear Criticality Safety
Organizer: Deborah A. Hill
Chair: Deborah A. Hill
Alternate Chair: Benjamin Martin
Fundamental to the successful operation of any nuclear site is a first-class safety culture that strives to continually improve in response to good industry practices and operating experience feedback. Following some anecdotal evidence on both the importance but also the challenges of sharing learning, some information will be provided on an international effort to develop a Criticality Safety "Learning From Experience" (LFE) database. Audience members will be provided with the opportunity to feedback on the database and shape its future development.

ANS-8 Standards Forum
Organizer: Douglas G. Bowen
Chair: Douglas G. Bowen
Alternate Chair: Kevin H. Reynolds
Subcommittee ANS-8, Operations with Fissile Material Outside Reactors, meets to discuss various technical and administrative aspects of the approximately 20 national consensus standards under its purview. In addition to status and progress updates by representatives of individual working groups, formal presentations on the technical bases of numerical values such as subcritical limits and experiences with applications of particular standards are solicited. Agenda topics such as new and expanded standards are also encouraged.

Incorporating NCS into Design
Organizer: Joseph A. Christensen
Chair: Theresa E. Cutler
Alternate Chair: Brittany M. Williamson
Implementation of changes in the U.S. nuclear fuel cycle for emerging needs such as high-assay low-enriched uranium, advanced fuel types, advanced medical isotopes, and plutonium processing will require new facilities and their associated processes and equipment. Integration of nuclear criticality safety (NCS) principles, limits, and controls should be incorporated early in the design process. This session will include papers which address the new strategies which may be employed to integrate NCS into the design process, operating experience and lessons learned from past design projects, and the associated risks and challenges faced by NCS practitioners during the design processes.
